I was with Lee and Emily. I was put in place to what angle we were filming. Emily was in charge of the camera and filming and Lee was the voice over reading out the different types of shots and what they were usually used for and what they represent.
The following shots, angles and movements were from the following sheet.

Gender:

Female stereotypes...
- Expected to be accommodating and emotional
- Some expect to clean, cook and look after the children
- Have jobs like teachers, nurses, cleaners and cooks
- Expected to be thin and graceful
- Sometimes treated like an object
- Colour pink, yellow
- Wear makeup

Male stereotypes...
-Expected to be self confident and aggressive
-Take care of finances, work on car, home repairs
-Usually have jobs like pilots, doctors and engineers
-Tall and muscular
-Smell nice and manly
-Colours dark blue, black, red

Media texts...

-Advert

This video implies that ballet is only for females and that every girl will grow up to want to be a ballerina. The stereotype for this is that girls will want to be a ballerina and the qualities many ballerinas have is to wear pink and be very gentle/ graceful.

-Movie

The Little Mermaid: Ariel falls in love with handsome Prince Eric on sight, then gives up her home, her family, and even her voice just to get the chance to be with him. Why isn't it Eric? He's another prince who's loved basically just for his looks.

-Magazine cover

This magazine cover addresses the gender stereotype for men. The man has lot of muscles on show and some could say that its putting men's self esteem down being exposed to these stereotypes.

Countertypes...
A representation that challenges tradition stereotypical associations of groups, people or places.

This is Michael Finch, a young male YouTube star, who does make up. This goes against the male gender stereotypes because he's wearing makeup and this is seen as controversial because females are 'only allowed' to wear make up.

Super Mint Advert Inspiration and Planning

MAOAM- I like how this advert uses the idea of eating the mama and his personality changing as it shows that by eating it your day will go from boring and average to fun and interesting. We are going to try to follow a similar concept to this for our advert.

TREBOR - We got the idea of creating mint range and like the idea and concept of this advert. We are going to try to use similar camera angles to the ones in this clip as it looks really affective and interesting.

HARIBO - I like how child voices where used in the adults body for this advert because it is fun and entertaining for the audience, also it makes the advert memorable. It also suggests that adults feel like kids again when they new eating them which we might recreate in a similar way and take influences from.

CADBURY - This advert follows the similar ideas and concepts that we want to achieve in our advert, for example I like the story line throughout this clip which we may try to recreate in a similar way.

Mise En Scene Task

Task 1 - What settings/Props would you find in:
- A Sci-Fi film
Settings; space, another planet, space ship, Parallel universe, in a dream, travelling through time.
Props; High tech computers, ray gun, time machine.
-A Rom-Com
Settings; A city, A park, A café, A festival/fair, on holiday, a wedding, a school.
Props; Ring, umbrella, flowers, chocolate, teddy bear, a Bike
-A Horror Film
Settings; Haunted house, Forest, shack, underground, bunker, school, abandoned place.
Props; Mask, Weapon, Ouija board, Torch, candle.
Task 2 - What meanings/Emotions do the following images convey

The guy on the left looks like he is in deep thought thinking about what to do next, therefore is feeling confused and maybe worried. The guy on the right looks focussed on something and looks intrigued, therefore is feeling angry and bewildered.

The man on the left looks worried and protective of the other guy, showing feelings of eagerness and also tenseness. The man on the right looks determined but also confused showing feelings of courage.

The soldiers all around look nervous and afraid showing feelings of panic and anxiousness. The guy in the middle looks superior and in charge showing that he is feeling confident, Strong and brave.

Task 3 - What does the positioning in the following images reveal about the characters/Films:

In this image, the characters are in a position which shows that they have maybe had an argument and the man has dine something wrong that the woman was not happy with. This may reveal that the story line may be about the guy trying to fix what he has done to make it up to his wife.

In this image, the axe is positioned into the middle of the screen so is the main focus for the viewer so can imply that maybe the axe will be used, maybe to harm someone. The axe blends in with the wood around it so even though it could be important it may not be easily recognised.

In this image, the main focus is the two guys in dark who lean on each other maybe implying that they rely on each other and are partners. The other main focus is the weapons they are holding which is very futuristic showing that this could be a sci fi film where these main characters fight alien crime.

In this image, there are soldiers all around with planets in the background showing that this sci fi film may include a battle between the planets. The main focus is the man in the middle showing that he is the main character and maybe the hero. The soldiers are facing the audience which can be seen as threatening so they may be the bad guys.

Low Key Lighting - Created by using only the key and back lights, produces sharp contrasts of light and dark areas, Deep, distinct shadows/silhouettes are formed.
High Key Lighting - More filter lights are used. Lighting is natural and realistic to our eyes. Produces brightly lit sets or a sunny day.
Task 4 - What types of lighting are used in the images?
A) High Key Lighting
B) Low Key Lighting
C) High Key Lighting
D)Low Key Lighting
E) Low Key Lighting
F) High Key Lighting

Practise Dancing Animal Edit

This was the first video that i edited using premiere pro. The task given was that we had to edit a clip so that the end product would include dancing animal scene with music over the top of them and all the scenes had to flow together using transitions. First of all i imported a video of these animals dancing and the song over the top 'too cold.' After this i used the cutting tool to cut the clips down so that the music went over the dancing. After that i had to use transitions to get rid of the black screen parts that were integrated through the clip. Once successfully doing this i tried out some video and audio effects to put in the final clip and chose my favorites including waves.
I found this task quite difficult as it was the first time that i had used this software. This gave me the chance to try out different effects and transitions and it allowed me to play around with the tools. Now i have a better knowledge of how to use premiere pro and will use this for the next time that i edit a video.

The theme I used was horror. We decided to find a backstage passage that looked slightly like a dark alleyway and use the setting to reflect on the theme because it looked like a rough area. We found a mask to represent a ghost or something frightening and darkened the photo to make it seem more earie. The main icon/ character in the picture is the ghost and the wall because this is what catches the audiences attention.

Club Advert Remake and Evaluation

1) Who did you work with and how did you manage the task between you?
2) How did you plan your sequence? What processes did you use?
3) What theorists do you think you could apply to your task?
4) What factors did you have to take into account when planning, shooting and editing?
5) How successful was your sequence? Please identify what worked well and with hindsight what would you improve/do differently?
6) What did others say about your production?
7) What have you learnt from completing this task?
8) Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing your future productions?

1) I worked with Holly, Olivia, Harriet and Niamh in this task and we managed it by all working together and setting certain roles/ responsibilities for each other.
2) We planned our sequence by looking at every take and camera angle in the original club advert and putting it on a word document. We studied all of the possible camera angles we could use to match the sequence.
3)I think we could use the theorist
4) We took into account the props, actors and colours from the original video when shooting the original video. While editing the video we tried to make the clips the exact same length and include all the same or similar affects used.
5) I feel like the sequence was successful because we managed to match all the scenes with the original and it came together well with all the shots and props. We also all worked well together and listened to each others ideas. I thought the beginning scene at 17 seconds worked well with the wheel burrow because we used many props for that to work. However I feel like we could have improved the last scene because when we edited with the green screen the hand punching through the screen was a green tinted colour. Next time we will make sure the lighting is correct in order for the editing to work. I feel like we could also improve the colours used in our version to make it look more like the original.
6)Other people thought our production was good because all the scenes matched the club advert so it made it in to watch.
7)I have learnt from this task how to use a green screen and how to do certain things using the editing file.
