Radio 1 Breakfast Show- Self Review Test
12. The program promotes British music by playing the popular songs everyday, invites artists onto the show to help promote new music, speaks about new artists and plays games with listeners that include music.
13. Only 40% of the tracks played were British.
14. Celebrities usually on the show are there to promote whether its new music or a new brand they have made. There are more British celebrities on the show.
16. They like to keep the news stories light because when you tune into the show early in the morning it's meant to be a positive thing to listen to. They will speak about news and stories but no heavy topics. The news is announced every half hour.
17. The BBC Breakfast show always has quizzes and games that include guests, celebrities and people that call in. Its a very popular, interactive part of the show thats always interesting to listen too. You can usually win money or tickets to an event.
18. It fits into the 'ethos' of informing, educating and entertaining by speaking about many different topics. The show is real and the conversations are educational because they are speaking about real life things and by listening to people speaking about things can be seen as educational. This is also entertaining.
19. In question 3...
20. I think its for 18-40 year olds because they are the type of people to be in there cars listening in the morning or to wake up to the breakfast show. I have evidence in that my mum wakes up to it and will sometimes listen to it in the car on her way to work. Also when they play games with callers they always are around this age range.

BBC Radio 1 Producers, Product and Distribution
Podcast: http://www.bbc.co.uk/academy/articles/art20170619095219011
What are the different responsibilities of presenters and producers?
They have to figure out the best questions to ask or the most entertaining conversations to have. They also have to be very organised and know what they will talk about. They get to choose guests and sometimes have to be briefed (swearing, and whats previously being said in the show). They have to constantly be thinking of good stories to share in real life off work.
What preparation that goes into each program?
It's not scripted but they have an idea what they will talk about the day before. They have to know whats happening after every song whether that is a caller, guest or topic to talk about. Have to have knowledge on the guests and what to ask them. Also if they have a caller on. The music team will have a different playlist everyday.
What's the most challenging and most enjoyable about working on the show?
Sometimes challenging because there is a lot of change and is a busy dynamic but its also great because there are loads of new ideas and the change is good. Everyone gets along and trusts each other which is good. Sometimes guests can go off on one or are boring so will have to end the interview early or have to subtlety remind them they are on the radio and that everyone is listening.
What are the team dynamics like?
Have a structure/ script every half hour. Everyone gets along and has good vibes in order for the show to run smoothly. Have a watsapp group chat where they can gather ideas because they know each other well.
How can you break into radio?
Try to do things that will teach you about it (like volunteering in local radio station) and learning about it. Pic up skills and listen to a lot of radio. It also helps to get involved with the radio as much as possible and to be persistent because people will always turn you down sometimes. Figure out what you like about other presenters.
Facts:
- Breakfast show 6:30- 10:00 am.
-Running since 1967, Grimshaw too over in 2012 and was 15th presenter.
-BBC radio 1 is broad cast on FM, DAB, Freeview, Freesat, Virgin, Sky or online.
